Frank STARLING of Somerton
When the HARMSWORTHs lived at the Hall (1903-1910), their son was
taken ill with appendicitis.
Dr FYFE of martham was called to attend and, due to the urgency of the case, Dr FYFE operated on the boy on the
kitchen table, assisted by the Nanny and two members of staff, using local anesthetic.
Mr HARMSWORTH was so grateful to the Doctor, that he bought him a car - the first car in Martham.
